Composed and improvised in equal measure, live electric bass is embellished with voice, samples and electronics to create a diverse soundscape exploring contemporary approaches to electronic, classical and jazz performance.

Pianist Xenia Pestova Bennett performs Mompou’s Spells (1920-21), excerpts from Henk van der Vliet Confetti for Carillon, Yfat Soul Zisso’s Full Moon and ‘Plutonium’ from her composition Glowing Radioactive Elements for Magnetic Resonator Piano.

 

Lakeside Arts Presents: The Carolan Guitar with Steve Benford

Acoustic guitarist and tenor banjo player Steve Benford arranges and performs traditional Celtic tunes on guitar, especially the compositions of legendary Irish harpist and composer Turlough O’Carolan.

 

Lakeside Arts is the University of Nottingham’s public arts programme. Over 200,000 people of all ages and abilities engage annually with Lakeside’s programme across the visual, performing and participatory arts, including festivals and special events.
